The evaluation

What an ADHD evaluation actually looks like.

01

Diagnostic interview

A structured diagnostic conversation covering current symptoms, school and work history, sleep, mood, and substance use.

02

Validated rating scales

Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS), Wender Utah Rating Scale (WURS), plus screens for anxiety, depression, bipolar, and trauma.

03

Differential diagnosis

Inattention can look like a lot of things. We rule out conditions that mimic ADHD — sleep apnea, thyroid, anemia, depression — before committing to treatment.

Treatment

Medication options, chosen with you.

There is no single "best" ADHD medication. The right one depends on your other health conditions, your daily schedule, and what you've tried before.

Stimulants

Methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta, Focalin) and amphetamine (Adderall, Vyvanse). First-line, with clear effect within days. We monitor blood pressure and heart rate.

Non-stimulants

Atomoxetine (Strattera), viloxazine (Qelbree), bupropion, and guanfacine. Good options for patients with anxiety, tics, substance-use history, or cardiac concerns.

Not-medication

ADHD-informed therapy, coaching, workplace accommodations, and sleep-first interventions — often as important as the pill.

By location

Adult ADHD care, where you are.

Each office serves its own metro area with the same evaluation process and clinician. Pick the page closest to you for specifics on directions, insurance, and local patient profiles.

Frequently asked

About adult ADHD care here.

Can I be evaluated for ADHD by telehealth?

Yes. Adult ADHD evaluations can be completed by secure video in Oregon and Washington. Federal regulations currently allow controlled-substance prescribing via telemedicine under specific conditions — we'll review with you whether telehealth-only care fits your situation.

Will you prescribe stimulants?

Yes — when clinically appropriate. Stimulant prescribing is a normal part of responsible adult ADHD care. We'll review your full medical history first, and stimulants are not the right call for every patient.

Do you accept patients who were diagnosed elsewhere?

Yes. Bring your prior records if you have them. We'll review, confirm the diagnosis, and continue — or adjust — treatment based on how things are going.

How long until I can be seen?

New patient evaluations are typically scheduled within two weeks at our Newberg, Salem, or Vancouver offices, or on the telehealth schedule.

Start with an evaluation.

Most patients who've wondered about ADHD for years feel relief just getting a real answer — yes or no. That begins with one appointment.
