What we do

Focused care for the conditions we know best.

A deliberately narrow scope of adult psychiatric practice — so the time spent learning your story actually changes the plan that follows.

Specialty

Adult ADHD evaluation & treatment

Comprehensive diagnostic interview, validated rating scales, and a treatment plan that may include stimulant or non-stimulant medication — discussed openly, prescribed thoughtfully.

Most common

Depression & anxiety

Major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, panic, and persistent low mood. Measurement-based care (PHQ-9, GAD-7), unhurried follow-ups, and coordination with your therapist.

Specialty

PTSD & trauma

Trauma-informed psychiatric care for adults living with post-traumatic stress — from a single event or from chronic, accumulated stress. Stabilization first; deeper work, at your pace.

Ongoing

Medication management

For patients already stable on medication who want a thoughtful, unhurried prescriber — not a new clinician every six months. Visits every 2–12 weeks depending on clinical stability.

Why MindHealth
Psychiatric care works best when there’s time to listen carefully and decide together. Unhurried first visits and follow-ups aren’t extras — they’re the minimum a thoughtful evaluation requires.

How care works

Mental health care without the six-month wait.

The hardest part of getting psychiatric help in Oregon and Washington is usually not the treatment. It is the waitlist. MindHealth is built around removing that step: new patients are typically seen within about a day, by secure video, anywhere in either state.

Your first visit is a full 60-minute evaluation. We cover current symptoms, history, sleep, medical background, prior medication trials, and what you actually want out of treatment. Validated rating scales — the ASRS, PHQ-9, GAD-7, and PCL-5 — give us a measurable baseline rather than an impression. You leave with a diagnosis or a clear plan for reaching one, and a treatment plan discussed rather than announced.

Follow-up is one week after your initial visit, every two weeks while a dose is being adjusted, and monthly once you are stable. We repeat the same rating scales, so improvement is measured rather than guessed at. Prescriptions go electronically to your pharmacy, and we send a visit summary to your primary care provider within one business day on request.

What we are not: a crisis service, an inpatient program, or a child and adolescent practice. We treat adults 18 and over, and we are honest when someone would be better served elsewhere. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 at any time.

Care is provided by Lavena McCullum, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner licensed in both Oregon and Washington.
